filming location and setting analysis

This garages: This area was used to replicate a rundown council estate, it looks great on camera because it suits the themes of the film. its an old dark concrete area and looks quite derelict. The area was very accessible because its outside my house. I have used this area for action shots in the trailer.
Inside of Garage: This set was created inside the garage with what i had around me. i feel this was a good and practical use of the minimal space i had. it includes a TV a small table and chairs in a rather unpleasant Mise en Scene which could perhaps be the main characters living space. On the table are bottles of Alcohol, playing cards and prop narcotics, the props and furniture have been used to show the typical lifestyle of the  individuals in this scene.

Liverpool Street: This exact spot on Liverpool street was filmed used in the opening sequence of the trailer which will show a time lapse of the busy city life. I chose this specific location because it shows an iconic and traditional stereo-typical perception of London which will later contrast with so called 'doggie' inner city part of London. The Positioning of this shot meant that the view captured allot of action which was sped up.
Photographs: I took this photograph of the main Character Micheal sitting beside a graffiti wall. The photo is very urban and fits the genre well. It is simple and raw which i like, this could be used as a magazine front cover.

Hanbury Street Estate: This was a council block in Sheorditch where i filmed a few shots. On camera it looks dark rundown and dangerous. The area had a isolated eerie feeling and was empty this made it an effective setting. I filmed a shot from the stairs that will be given a CCTV overlay to show the main character (Micheal) mugging another boy on the street.
Brick Lane: This is a vibrant busy spot in London where i done some of my filming, its also a very popular spot for film and photography students which made things a little more easier. This area was a perfect location because of its surrounding grungy alleyways and flats that were great for setting the genre. This is an area i had in mind from the very start of this project.
