Film Titles

 Image result for film titles

Film title design is a term describing the craft and design of motion picture title sequences. Since the beginning of the film form, it has been an essential part of any motion picture. The style of the title has to relate to the film genre, for example Star Wars has a Sc-Fi type font as well as Back To The Future.

I have looked at film titles of films in the UK social realism genre that are focused on crime and they all seem to follow the same kind of design, they are all quite bold and basic, all capital letters and are usually black white or red. The fonts are easy to read as they are plain and contrast with the background.  A lot of these film titles have a blood red colour to them which represents violence in the film as red is a violent colour symbolising blood. The fonts all seem to have a similar texture to them as if they are made from concrete. The fonts are very urban, probably because these films are set on the streets. I need to ensure that i create a suitable film title for my product. The films title is a key feature in promotion as this will be one of the main focal points of my trailer and both my magazine front cover and film poster.
