Special Effects

I have looked into gun shot visual effects and how to include them on premiere pro. This would be very use full in my trailer as I'm using guns as one of the main conventions in my film. With out the use of real guns I need to figure out a way to make it look as realistic as possible with audio sound effects and visual effects. I know that this is easier said than done and it can go very wrong and look unprofessional. if this happens I will simply not include it.

Below are the results of my gunshot effect preliminary task. as a first attempt I am happy however I feel there are definitely room for improvements. I downloaded the 'muzzle flash' effect and the gunshot sound from a website called Footage Crate. (https://vfx.productioncrate.com/search.html?query=gunshot)

I Then had to adjust the lighting in the shot to create a flash in the background that appears on the wall. this makes it more realistic. This effect will vary on angle of the shot and the setting, in a brighter outdoor setting I would need to use different effects, the flash would be barely visible and I would use a smoke effect.
